Overview:You will own the Release lifecycle for large projects or program delivery with Esri's wide ranging customer base. This can include scheduling, requirements gathering, management of testing, and coordinating deployments for the entire engagement. The releases can be inclusive of base deployment, application configurations, application updates, operating system patches, third-party integrations, data configuration and data updates. Where necessary and applicable you'll provide tools and services to help project teams manage and deploy releases into production.The Release Manager works collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their dev/test environments. The Release Manager coordinates practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.The Release Manager will work collaboratively with project and program managers to assist in managing projects and program interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence and high-quality releases.Responsibilities:Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule, and qualityMeasure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectationsConduct Release Readiness reviews, and Go/No-Go reviewsReview and estimate opportunities and proposals to incorporate Release Management supportDevelop Test Plans, Release Plans, Deployment Plans and Checklists and Run BooksManual execution of test scripts and deployment plansCoordinate release content and effort based on backlogs and delivery schedulesCommunicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changesManage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locationsCoordinate and execute Test and Release Milestones such as Internal Acceptance, User Acceptance and provide Test and Release ReportingCommunicate release details and schedules to the Business as requiredNegotiate, plan, and manage all test and release activitiesReview Architecture Documents, Design Documents, Requirements Documents and determine and communicate project impactContinually work towards making improvements in the release and deployment processLead and coordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.Support test and release automationDevelops scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platformsResearches new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyzes their application to current configuration management needsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field4-6 years of previous release, technical management and/or project management experienceDemonstrated understanding of project management principles and methodologies. Waterfall and Agile/Scrum preferredAdvanced knowledge of software development lifecycleDemonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completionExperience with relational databases such as SQLExperience with scripting, Python or PowerShellRecommended Qualifications:2 years' experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or developmentFamiliarity with installation and configuration of key Esri Enterprise productsKnowledge of automation of builds and deploymentsDemonstrated effective leadership and analytical skillsAdvanced written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of Defect Management Systems such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or GitHubKnowledge of MS ProjectThe Company:Our passion for improving quality of life through geography is at the heart of everything we do.
