Case Manager Lead Redlands, California New Behavioral Medicine Center: Case Management (Full Time, Day Shift) -Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The Case Manager Lead will be responsible for maximizing use of resources of daily operations, serving as a clinical criteria resource to staff, participating in human resource management, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation requirements and hospital policy and supporting and participating in performance improvement process for the utilization management department. Is responsible for a variety of case management duties, thus assuring proper utilization providing maximum quality of patient care. Serves as a resource for staff in the area of JCAHO standards and those of private utilization review agencies. Is responsible for clinical evaluation and disposition of patients referred to the Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center. Coordinates contact with the appropriate clinical, hospital and community resources. Coordinates with clinicians and hospital staff to facilitate hospital admissions. Performs other duties as needed.Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing preferred. Minimum of one year of psychiatric experience within the last two years and a minimum of one year of experience in utilization review or quality assurance required. Minimum of one year of experience in psychiatric intake preferred. Current and unrestricted California RN license required. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification and MAB course required within 90 days of hire.Knowledge of psychotropic medications and appropriate age group. Basic clinical skills in delivery of nursing care in acute care facility. Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Must have diplomacy and tactfulness; must possess skills in negotiating, telephone usage, and written and verbal communication. Excellent usage of English language and grammar. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position. Essential Interpersonal Skills: Ability to develop positive therapeutic interactions with patient, patient families, co-workers, supervisors, medical staff and outside agencies, maintains calm demeanor in crisis situations. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, delegate and collaborate; accept direction. Ability to work with limited supervision; ability to execute duties in an efficient manner. Essential Mental Abilities: Requires higher level mental faculties accompanied by short and long-term memory; ability to concentrate on several assignments simultaneously; think critically; perform basic math functions; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Ability to receive and accurately carry out instructions. Essential Sensory Abilities: Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.Additional Information
