Job Description - Title: Registered Nurse - Location: Orange
Coast Medical Center - Fountain Valley, CA - Department: Ambulatory
Infusion Program - Status: Per Diem - Shift: Days (8-Hr) - The PD
RN must have availability for a minimum of one (1) self-scheduled
shift bi-weekly. - Capacity to work additional shifts, subject to
availability. - Schedule: Clinic is open Monday-Friday and closed
on weekends/major holidays. - Pay Range*: $49.51/hr-$77.62/hr

full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the

The employee shall support Orange Coast Medical Center’s strategic
plan and participate in and advocate performance
improvement/patient safety activities. Utilizing the nursing
process and clinical nursing practice standards, the RN is
responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for The
Zouras Family Infusion Center patient in accordance with the
policies and procedures of the Nursing Department. Responsibilities
include directing unlicensed employee activity, synthesizing
patient information, assessment of patients, planning of
care/interventions, teaching patients/family, implementation of
treatment plan/MD orders, and evaluation of care rendered. The RN
must effectively communicate and document data relevant to the care
of the patient. The RN utilizes knowledge of patient age, cultural
diversity, psycho-social and/or spiritual needs into the patient’s
plan of care. The RN contributes to the promotion of quality
nursing care through performance improvement processes that
demonstrates positive outcomes in patient care. In addition, the RN
collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and
effective patient care delivery and the achievement of desired
patient outcomes. Essential Functions And Responsibilities Of The
Job - Utilizes the nursing process and practice standards as a
framework for the management of patient care. - Analyzes the
assessment data to determine a nursing diagnosis and appropriate
interventions. - Demonstrates leadership in the coordination of
patient care across the healthcare continuum with progress towards
meeting desired patient outcomes. - Appropriately delegates to
licensed and unlicensed personnel. - Demonstrates the ability to
utilize effective critical thinking skills. - Prioritizes essential
functions. - Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical information
system and applies principles to patient documentation. -
Contributes to an effective and safe working environment. -
Formulates a teaching plan, based on identified patient learning
needs, and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included
in teaching plan as necessary. - Serves as a role model to all
staff and mentors new staff members. - Demonstrates knowledge and
understanding of patient privacy rights. Maintains confidentiality
of all medical, financial and other sensitive material in printed,
electronic or verbal form related to all patient and employee
privacy. - Demonstrates the ability to use good customer service
skills by managing and acknowledging patient family-significant
other expectations. - Demonstrates tact, sensitivity and discretion
at all times. - Demonstrates the ability to integrate knowledge of
job specific competencies, proper use of equipment, and maintain
educational competencies and licensure/certifications. - Ability to
be at work and be on time. - Ability to follow company policies,
procedures and directives. - Ability to interact in a positive and
constructive manner. - Ability to prioritize and multitask. -
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including,
but not limited to, relevant years of experience and
qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional
compensation available for this role, including but not limited to,
shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus

Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience
preferred. - One-year of chemotherapy immunotherapy infusion
nursing and/or acute care oncology nursing experience highly
preferred. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made
for an employee with strong education and associated experiential
background. - Experience with peripheral and central venous access
devices and infusion therapy preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification - Current California RN License
required. - Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher preferred. -
Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support
required. - Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac
Life Support required. - EKG Certification - ONS
Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider certificate required. -
Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider cards are valid for up to three
(3) months after expiration date. - OCN certification
preferred.
