For more than 30 years, SCCS has provided care, counseling,
coaching, and essential mental health services for children, teen,
young adults, and their families. As specialists in the field of
mental health, SCCS employees possess diverse professional skills
equipping us as a team to treat each client's unique needs.
The Therapist is responsible for the implementation of
psychotherapy services provided to the clients and family members.
The major responsibilities include the delivery of individual
psychotherapy, group therapy, family therapy, and education. In
addition, the Therapist is responsible for coordinating collateral
contacts in a case-management manner to ensure follow-through on
court-ordered service plan or development of a plan for families
that are referred. All services must be documented as required by
the Medi-Cal standard of care. The Therapist shall respond to the
community's needs and interests by assisting the Mental Health
Director in training (for example in-services). All
responsibilities are carried out through a commitment to South
Coast Children's Society's philosophy, goals, and objectives. The
Therapist is also required to document all clinical services within
one business day of providing the service, as well as provide 1200
billable hours per year to clients.
What you will do:
* Responsible for maintaining a minimum caseload of 25 clients.
* Provides 1-2 hours of psychotherapy per week (depending on the
clients' needs) to clients on their caseload and. Family therapy
and group therapy are facilitated as directed by the client's care
plan or per Mental Health Director. * Educates the family to
understand the program. * Implements the Client Care Plan. *
Collaborates with the psychiatrist to provide the best possible
treatment for clients. * MH charting completed within the Medi-Cal
standards. Charting of family and group therapy is completed
weekly. Reports and assessments are completed on time and in a
professional manner. * Attends all required meetings as
representative of SCCS and client such as staff meetings, chart
audits, meetings with psychiatrist, county meetings, etc. *
Maintains a good relationship with the county social workers.

* Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT Intern) /
Masters Degree in Psychology/Masters Degree in Social Work * 1+
years' experience in report writing, assessment/diagnostic skills,
group and family therapy skills. * Bilingual Spanish preferred
Licensure, Registration, Certification:
* PsyD/PhD/LCSW/MFT preferred. If not licensed, active
registration with the California BBS or Board of Psychology as
Registered Psychologist. * Valid CA driver's license and proof of
automobile insurance. * Completion of CPR/First Aid within the
first thirty (30) days of employment.
