Job Title: Assistant Branch Manager 2 Department: Branch Supervisory Role: Yes FLSA: Exempt Supervisor's Title: Branch Manager Position Purpose and Objectives The Assistant Branch Manager 2 role supports the branch manager by overseeing the efficient operation of the branch to ensure all operational functions are completely and properly performed by the Team Members while conveying a feeling of trust, service, security and satisfaction to our members. Train and supervise branch service representatives. Enforce Credit Union regulations and oversee Credit Union security measures. Monitor branch financial activities, perform audits, review, reports and manage cash levels. Essential Functions and Responsibilities * Personally, provides exceptional member service through words and actions or in accordance with Branch Plan; uses Service Standards in every work-related interaction. * Ensures exceptional member service is delivered by all Team Members. * Actively participates in meeting the goals of the department and the Credit Union. * Provides excellent service by using a positive and professional tone to assists callers and Team Members accurately, thoroughly and as efficiently as possible while maintaining consistent and friendly service. Ensures that a smile can be heard on each call. * Uses organizational tools and techniques to complete tasks on time and successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, with the ability to give unexpected status in any of the areas of responsibility. * Maintains operations in the branch such as maintaining branch cash limits at optimum levels, minimizing controllable losses, overseeing vault/Teller Cash Recycler (TCR)/branch/General Ledger (GL) balancing, researching out of balance issues; ensuring completion of Daily Accounting Report and troubleshoots Automated Teller Machine (ATM)/debit card concerns. * Ensure that the opening and closing procedures are being completed. * Performs branch certifications to ensure compliance of team members with established standard procedures, policies, and practices. * Establishes work schedules and assigns duties to team members to ensure efficient operation of branch while working within budgeted Full Time Employees (FTE). * Ensures staff commitment to member service standards. * Compiles required and special reports on operating functions of branch. * Directs Team Member training to improve efficiency and ensure conformance with standard procedures and practices. * Oversee ordering of branch cash and verification of cash orders received. * Conducts team meetings and collaborates with team members to discuss operational challenges and procedural changes or practices. * Motivates, coaches and develops team members in technical and people skills. * Maintains working knowledge of all deposit and consumer loan products. * Attends and participates in periodic management and committee meetings. * Performs supervisory duties: plans, assigns, directs and evaluates subordinates' work, measures performance against goals; reviews efficiency and completeness of tasks; conducts performance reviews, works with branch leadership to recommend promotions and develops higher levels of expertise in team members through coaching and training. * Serves as the first point of contact for any member complaint requiring resolution. * Maintains security compliance; routinely checks security devices; conducts quarterly safety and security meetings. * Identifies/reports operational deficiencies; recommends solutions to increase branch operational efficiencies. * Maintains a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws/regulations applicable to area of responsibility; complies with all BSA/AML and Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC) laws/regulations. * Advise Branch Manager of any department or branch office issues. * Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality. * Flexibility/Willingness to change as job evolves and daily schedule changes. * Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and deemed necessary to achieve the goals of the credit union and the branch. Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this Position Extensive knowledge of branch banking services, new accounts, lending, operations and related laws, regulations and human resources practices and experience in banking products and services, and member relationship building; along with the regulatory and legal parameters that govern them. Knowledge of operating a personal computer, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), navigating the internet., and working knowledge of the core operating systems such as Symitar. Demonstrated management skills including organization and follow up skills, and problem solving; effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to escalate issues when appropriate. Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent and Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college. A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience related to branch operations in a financial institution, preferably a bank or credit union. Two (2) years of prior managerial and/or demonstrated leadership experience required. Four (4) years of additional experience may be substituted for the degree. Working knowledge of banking core software - Symitar System proficiency a plus. Compliance: Ability to maintain a proficient knowledge and compliance of all applicable rules and regulations under BSA, AML and OFAC regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; SAFE Act; Anti Money Laundering; Regulation B; Regulation CC; Regulation D and Regulation Z. Be in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and other regulatory agencies. Language Skills: Ability to communicate and understand written and oral language and the ability to effectively present information. Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy/procedures. Ability to prepare and make comprehensive presentations, communicate professionally with Members and all levels in the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to perform basic math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Certificates, licenses, etc. required for this position: Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) designation with the National Mortgage Licensing Systems (NMLS) certification is also preferred. Work Environment: The position operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
