Job Description:
Overview:Leverage your technical expertise, leadership
experience, and passion for process improvement to identify,
define, manage, and deliver transformational projects. This
challenging and fulfilling role is within Esri's Information
Systems and Technology (IST) Division, whose mission is to enable
Esri's business objectives and operational initiatives. Partnered
with forward-thinking colleagues, you will have the opportunity to
directly lead transformation of legacy processes and
systems.Responsibilities:
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis,
surveys, and workshop facilitation
- Develop/refine as-is and to-be business processes and use cases
using Lean 5S principles, customer journeys, and VOC
blueprints
- Ensure details of processes are documented, understood, and
vetted with stakeholders and project teams, e.g., triggers that
initiate the process, suppliers and consumers of information, tasks
and activities, tools used to execute the process, metrics that
monitor process health, and business scenarios
- Partner with colleagues to develop business cases; define
project goals, objectives, and success criteria; and define metrics
to measure project performance
- Effectively present and advocate for designed solutions to
various stakeholders; use your domain expertise to explain how the
solution will advance business objectives
- Identify stakeholders and ensure they are included for early
buy in of the "to-be" state
- Manage cross-functional projects using the appropriate project
management methodology; define project phases, milestones,
activities, and tasks
- Manage project scope, quality, schedule, cost, contracts, and
deliverables aligned with project goals, objectives, and business
requirements
- Capture and communicate project status, risks, and mitigation
plans
- Remove/escalate roadblocks by identifying issues early and
proactively identifying solutions
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with
project stakeholders, project team members, and senior
leadersRequirements:
- 7+ years of direct work experience as a business process
analyst in an IT setting, including experience managing IT projects
with a consistent trajectory of increasing responsibility and
breadth
- Experience with Agile, Lean, and DevOps methodologies
- Experience with ITIL processes, ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, CMDB, and
related tools and practices
- Understanding of data flows, integrations, and application
programmatic interfaces (APIs)
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to think strategically and plan and implement
collaboratively
- Strong sense of accountability for the success of the team and
a passion for delivering value
- Experience proactively escalating issues to appropriate levels
of management
- Demonstrated knowledge of business analysis skills, including
process and data-driven analysis experience using common industry
frameworks
- Ability to lead others during ambiguity
- Ability to document and analyze complex business processes
using process modelling tools such as Microsoft Visio or
LucidChart
- Strong facilitation skills to elicit requirements from various
personalities across the organization, including senior
executives
- Proven experience driving consensus across multiple
stakeholders from different business functions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work
effectively with business stakeholders, team members, and
management
- Ability to understand technical jargon and communicate it in
layperson's terms
- Flexible and adaptive, reacting to project adjustments and
alterations promptly and efficiently
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
independently
- Experience successfully championing change through advocacy,
collaboration, and communication
- Bachelor's in a technical field such as computer science,
engineering, or information systemsRecommended Qualifications:
- Training, experience or certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or
Business Process Management (BPM)
- Project Management (PMI), Agile/Scrum training/experience
- Training or direct experience with cross-functional process
improvement initiatives
- Training and/or direct experience with business analysis skills
as described in the Agile Extension of the BABOK
- Knowledge of UX/UI principles
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture and business architecture
frameworks (TOGAF, BIZBOK)
- Experience in an IT operations role either as a direct leader
or senior contributor
- Experience with public and private cloud technologies (AWS,
Azure, & VMware preferred)
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, preferably in an
architecture/implementer capacity
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, including extended
business partners and third-party vendors
- Exposure to enterprise architecture frameworks and
methodologies
- Experience working in functional areas such as product
development, product management, or professional services in a
software development company
- Experience directly leading organizational change management
activities
