Lead Revised: May 2022General Description: The Placement Specialist
is responsible for successfully culminating recruitment efforts by
initiating and pursuing communications strategies and protocols
needed to convert prospective members (leads) to registered
members. The Specialist is responsible for securing increased girl
and adult volunteer participation as well as the community
partnerships needed to implement Girl Scouting within an assigned
area. The identification of Duties and Responsibilities does not

assigned to this position.Essential Functions/Responsibilities:1.
Assists in achieving the council's corporate goals for girl and
adult membership through implementing membership strategies in
assigned areas.
- Assists in designing and implementing a comprehensive plan for
girl and adult membership growth in targeted areas by researching
market data, membership trends, and other pertinent information
relevant to designated geographic areas.
- Supports implementation of membership recruiting marketing
strategies outlined in the council's strategic plan, annual tactics
and/or other council goals primarily through phone and written
follow-up contacts with prospective members and community
partners.
- Develops and updates opportunity catalogue (troops/groups with
openings) to streamline girl and adult placement.
- Studies and becomes proficient in girl and adult related
trends, multi-cultural data and demographics, effective
communication, and marketing techniques in order to effectively
implement a membership plan.
- Assists potential volunteers in finding a role appropriate to
their skills, interests and time constraints, guiding them through
the on boarding process.
- Provides for high quality communication, customer service and
follow-up to meet the needs of volunteers until they are fully
approved and placed in a role.
- Enter and maintain accurate data and records related to member
onboarding, volunteer approval and customer engagement.
- Prepares action plans and schedules to identify specific
targets and to project the number of contacts to be made in order
to meet membership goal. Prepares a variety of status reports,
including activity, follow-up, and adherence to goals.
- Utilizes customer relationship management system to support
pursuance of leads throughout the recruitment process for
completion to close status.
- Supports external recruitment efforts and is able to finalize
membership enrollment leads. Follows up on new leads and referrals
resulting from field activity in a timely fashion.
- Performs additional duties as assigned to assist in fulfillment
of the council's mission and goals.
- Ensures Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by
delivering the Girl Scouts message of pluralism and diversity to
members of the council.2. Works interdepartmentally to ensure our
Council goals are met.
- Works with cross-functional team to determine or develop
innovative techniques to ensure the effective delivery of
recruitment strategies.
- Promotes and assists with our Council wide programs and
activities.Competencies and areas of expertise may include:

segmentation, interpretation and use of market data). Demonstrates
comfort in presenting the value behind solutions in a way that
resonates with what is most important to the potential
members/customers of the organization.
- Oral and Written Communication abilities (i.e. In person,
verbal, written, and/or phone); Expresses ideas and facts in a
clear and understandable manner appropriate for the individual or
group; listens to and comprehends what others are saying; prepares
organized and structured presentations; has demonstrated ability to
work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential issues and
communicate effectively with a diverse group of girls, volunteers,
and staff. Ability to project a warm, inviting, and trustworthy
telephone image.

market the Girl Scout value proposition through a variety of

- Excellent technical computer skills in Microsoft Office
including Word, Excel, Outlook, customer relationship management
systems and social networking.

obtained to make a decision; makes decisions where appropriate or
refers decisions to the appropriate organizational level; makes
decisions without undue delay
- Volunteer Management - knows the procedures, tools, and legal
issues associated with recruiting, selecting, supervising, and
releasing adult volunteers; assigns and manages volunteers in an
efficient manner; monitors use of volunteers; recognizes volunteer
accomplishments.Education, Work Experience, Skill Requirements &
Certifications:1. Minimum Education (or substitute experience)
required:ยท High School Diploma; some college preferred.2. Minimum
Experience required:
- Minimum 1-2 years of related work experience. Non-profit
experience and/or membership experience a plus.
- Experience using Salesforce or other customer relationship
management (CRM) systems is a plus. 3. Skills Required:
- Advance level skills in Microsoft Office Suite, and in general
data entry. Ability to type in excess of 50 wpm.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be
detail-oriented.
- Able to independently resolve problems or conflicts.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
appropriately.
- Confidentiality is of utmost importance.
- Proven ability and aptitude to work collaboratively with
diverse individuals throughout the organization and community.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication, written and verbal skills. Customer
service oriented.4. Additional Requirements:
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not a
requirement.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends
and holidays, as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Ability to work remotely, when assigned.
- Ability to follow all company safety and health protocols. 5.
Minimum License, Certifications & Affiliations/Memberships and
CEU's
- Valid California driver's license and an insured vehicle in
good working order.
- Must successfully complete a fingerprint background check
