The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safety protocols to personnel in the workplace, EHS training as well as monitoring health and safety in the work site. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.* Perform and document job site inspections, concentrating on identifying and remediating--hazards; ensuring compliance with policies.* 40-50% of time, operate the wastewater pre-treatment plant equipment and operations to ensure critical compliance as identified in the procedure. This process requires documentation, adjustment of chemicals, mechanical and electrical operations. * Conduct pre-task analysis, take storm-water samples from discharge and send to lab.* Conduct Air Pollution Control Dust Collection drum changes according to SCAQMD enclosure requirement and--Air Pollution Control--inspection.* Conduct hazardous waste tank and secondary containment inspections.* Use forklift to transport drums/containers/bins and prepare manifests for shipments.* Conduct Fire Extinguisher and Eyewash/shower Inspections.* Assist Report all incidents and findings to the EH&S Manager and assist--with report preparation and documentation.* Maintain PPE equipment and inventory and order supplies.* Perform other related duties as required.* Ability to repair equipment such as pumps, replace gaskets, etc. * Use riding sweeper to sweep/wet wash grounds, general plantwide/yard cleaning (i.e. sweeper and wet wash).Qualifications * Vocational or Technical Certificate in related field and a minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.* Knowledge of federal and state occupational safety and health regulations.* Forklift Operator experience--required.* 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certificate preferred.* Wastewater experience is preferred.* OSHA 10 hour and OSHA 30 hour certification preferred.* Experience with safety program in chemical industry is preferred.Knowledge of federal and state occupational safety and health regulations.Teledyne is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race,color,religion,religious creed,gender,sexual orientation,gender identity,gender expression,transgender,pregnancy,marital status,national origin,ancestry,citizenship status,age,disability,protected Veteran Status,genetics or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal,state,or local law.
