Job Description:

The Fire Sprinkler Estimator will be performing fire system estimating in several areas of the construction industry. Having the ability to analyze and evaluate all aspects of potential projects and to set up pricing ensuring Pro-Craft Construction remains competitive and profitable. This person is motivated and looking to grow the business while managing the quality and consistency of products and service delivery in accordance with Pro-Craft Constructions standards providing customers with an exceptional experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop project estimates
Develop project labor and material values.
Request quotes for system components, equipment, and large material purchases from vendors.
Attend if necessary on-site walk-through
Review all RFI's for project understanding, costs, and risks.
Review bid documents, Contracts, and Letters of Intent to verify the scope of the projects.
Attend meetings with various owners, developers, & general contractors if required
Complete accurate estimate takeoff using onscreen estimating software
Evaluate and communicate project risk- Manage multiple bids while meeting rigorous deadlines in a high-pressure work environment
Organize previous takeoffs and estimates for future project review and time study
Perform subcontractor and vendor estimate reviews
Assist in developing initial budgets and estimates for design-build projects- Review cost estimates with management for potential scope gaps and finalize bid for submission
Analyze subcontractor scope and select completer and more competitive prices.
Understand the workings and sequencing of a project including construction schedule, tie-in, and shutdowns.
Obtain and negotiate the best possible pricing from suppliers and subcontractors within the company Code of Ethics.
Implement safety operations and assist the company with overseeing best workplace and job site safety practices.
Travel to bidding "job walks", job site assessments and prepare/take notes and photographs for bidding and work use.
Read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, including all disciplines of construction drawings and specifications.
Work with and comprehend mathematical concepts including hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis.
Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction
Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK
Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between the trades
Other duties as assigned
Technical Skills:
MUST - have a strong background and be experienced with Microsoft Office/excel and windows.
Applicant - MUST - have hands-on field experience with fire sprinklers.
MUST - have experience in project cost estimating for Fire Sprinkler System installation, repair and service, overhead systems, and underground firewater.
Experience working on public works, various utility companies.
Understanding of NFPA, all regulations, and codes related to Fire Sprinklers and Fire Safety.
A clear understanding of contracting, public and private, design-build, design-assist, maintenance contracts, design, engineer, fabrication, and logistics.
Knowledge in rates of production, units of cost, the value of work to be estimated and completed.
Communication:
Demonstrates leadership and communication skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well with others.
Excellent communicator, self-motivated individual with great organizational skills.
Able to build and retain excellent contractor relationships.
Qualifications:
Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience. Examples include Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management Degrees
5+ years of Fire Protection design in education, healthcare, hospitality, and commercial marketplace experience required
NICET certification preferred
AutoCAD experience and/or Hydratec Experience required
Valid driver's license and excellent driving record
Candidates must successfully complete an employment background check.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $120,000 per year
