The Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing daily activities
for the distribution center (DC) related to maintenance and
custodial needs including the interior and exterior of the facility
and equipment. Acts as liaison with outside contractors to ensure
repairs and upgrades are made. Ensures that facility meets AIB
standards as it relates to being a "food distribution" facility.
Responsible for shut-down procedures, lockouts, and maintaining
hazardous products utilizing established protocol. Oversee daily
activities of FT and/or PT custodial personnel. Also, primary
trainer for the DC's forklift certification training program.
- Monitors and evaluates the overall performance of systems and
equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, electrical and
- Works closely with Operations Managers to coordinate
preventative maintenance programs and schedules to reduce or
eliminate operational downtime.
- Coordinates multiple mechanical and facilities projects
- Represents distribution center in business relationships with
outside vendors, contractors, and other third parties.
- Maintains MSDS manual.
- Directs work activities of maintenance/ custodial helpers.
- Orders and/or purchases materials and related supplies as
- Ensure that vendor invoices are sent to Corp. weekly.
- Other duties as assigned. Requirements
- 3-5+ years of maintenance experience in a DC environment.
- Experience in driving equipment required; Forklift
certification highly preferred
- Experience with banding machine and other typical warehouse
equipment, general repairs and upgrades, lockout and shut-down
